God of justice God of the oppressed God of the broken hearted The One before whom all creation bows God, my people have suffered They have suffered for a long time They have been in pain Beaten Imprisoned Used Abused Ripped from community Conquered Trampled Mocked Enslaved Violated And so much more We are tired. We are tired When will it end, Lord? When is enough, enough? When will these yokes be lifted from our necks? When will our fellow man see us as a fellow man? White supremacy has sought to ravage all the earth under its throne of oppression It has captured the minds of those with white skin and deceived many away from the truth of imago dei It has ravaged lands Ripped apart the earth, ripped apart homes, ripped apart families and ripped apart wombs When Will it end, Lord? When Will you rise from your throne and defend us When Will you do something? When Will this end? When? When? When? But just when I am about to give up all hope I’m reminded that a thousand years is like a day to You That You have always been with the oppressed You have always been a deliverer Deliver us Lord, Deliver us from it all You lift up the broken hearted You mourn with those who mourn And weep with those who weep God of justice, stand from your throne and tear down ancient systems that have oppressed Stand from your throne and rule with justice We trust You God of justice
